Title: Admiral Ashworth
Post by: maxitup1966 on Friday 15 April 11 14:40 BST (UK)
Hi ... I'm trying to help trace my aunts paternal family from the Burnley area.

Her father was Admiral Ashworth b.1907 Burnley ... yes Admiral IS his christian name !!!
I think his father is Walter Ashworth b.1883 Burnley.
His mother is Maggie (something) b. 1881 or 1891 Whitehaven.
I believe they married about 1906-1907.

Now it gets tricky !!!
There seems to be TWO Admiral Ashworths born about 1857 ???
I think Walter is the one born to William & Elizabeth ... you can see this easily from the 1871 census.

If someone could find Walter's wife Maggie's maiden name that would be really great  :)
If someone could clarify which Admiral Ashworth born in 1857 that would be even greater  ;)
If someone could find both before I post this I'll write a cheque for one million quid  ;D

Thanks
Dave (East Sussex)

Back in 1861 census, the one who was married by 1881 (married Elizabeth Anderton in the Dec Q of 1879) had parents

Thankyou Mort & heywood  ;D

Kinda strange that two boys are born 6 months apart in the same parish with the same unusual christian name and amazingly the same surname  ???

The birth of Admiral Ashworth in 1907 on www.lancashirebmd.org.uk confirms his mothers maiden name as Flynn.
