I think I've looked through all the JONES messages on this site, but no luck, so please could someone look up another Thomas Jones for me.
From the 1871 census, his father was Edward Jones, a farmer, born Mold c.1817, and his mother was Mary - born Cilcain c. 1819. I believe her maiden name may have been Lloyd. Thomas is 23 in 1871 census giving him a probable birth year of 1848. I can't find the family in either the 1851 or 1861 Census.
I would like to know Thomas's birth/baptism date and confirm his mother maiden name please. Also, was Thomas baptised as just Thomas or was he Thomas Lloyd Jones as he called himself in later life?
Any help or information found will be much appreciated.

Hi Carol,
I think in 1861 Edward has a different Occp a Lime Merchant.
Edward is born c 1819, Mold, Flintshire
Mary c 1820, Cilcen and Thomas c 1848, Mold
RG9/4276/11/18
1851 Edward is a Lead Miner, born c 1821, Mold, and all other details match for Mary/Thomas.
He did well for himself!

I cant find a Marriage on FreeBMD for Edward to a Mary Lloyd c 1845-1848
The Lloyd part may come from Edwards Mothers Maiden Name even.
Is Thomas's Father down as Edward a Farmer on his Marriage Cert?

Thank you Trish and William for your suggestions. I have not only been able to track down information of Thomas Lloyd Jones, but also his father and his grandfather. The little clues all added up, like the miner occupation and the names of the villages etc.
I just got the marriage certificate for Edward Jones and Mary Lloyd and the witness was Elizabeth (likely Mary's older sister). Both their fathers were also called Edward, so here we go again... Anyway it will take me more time to put everything together. I just wanted to thank you both for the help and let you know it paid off. ;D ;D
