I am sure I have found Consular BMD's under the heading Ionian Islands on Findmypast, but it appears to have disappeared is this correct or is it hidden some place else.

I am interested in the Ionian Island Records .... I have been looking for birth circa 1843-45 for a Christopher Taylor, who according to his (Methodist) m.c. was born "Ionian Islands Greece" ... I have not had any success in finding his birth/baptism at all ...
If you find those Records, would you please, if you have a spare moment, have a look to see if they include any reference to my elusive chap. I don't have any names for his parents, so he is a brickwall at present (and err ... has been so, for a number of decades)
Many cheers,
JM in NSW Australia.

Thanks Trevor .... he's very elusive ... ended up in New Zealand ....
I think the infant in Kent in 1841 succumbed in June 1842 aged 9 months ... :(

Hello jm
I have just got to reading my emails & I see Trevor has done a search for you.
With Trevors help I found 2 out of 3 persons I was looking for.
Hope you get there eventually

Agh Vesta.... I live in hope and anticipation, he has been a long time mystery ... not just to me but to several others in earlier generations too ... Not often that I see Ionian Island Records mentioned anywheres... I hoped you didn't mind me jumping onboard your thread...
Cheers, JM

well hi to you both .
vesta . if yo care to post the name of the person your missing i,ll have a look for you as well if you wish .
and jm the same goes for you if you give me all you know on chris taylor i,ll have a scout round again , only i feel sure i found some history for the methodists some time back in helping with another post but can,t remember where , only i,m wondering if he may be registered in the non conformist records somewhere as sometimes it pays to work back from what you know .
regards to you both

Hello again Trevor
I would like to find the Ref for the birth of John Philip Green born on 25 May 1823 in Zante.
This John Philip married Mary Ann Catherine Duppa nee Long, as I have not found the marriage in the UK I wonder if it took place in Zante. She died 1915 in Tonbridge.
Thanks Vesta
