The marriage of Ann Reid and Henry James ROGERS ( No D) took place at St James Hampstead on 29th Sept 1884.Address given for both of them was 26 Edward Street.

His Father George Henry Rogers decd.
Hers Alexander Reid ,a carter.
Witnesses Hugh Reid and Eleanor Gooch? (very faint writing)

So are you saying that you haven't found them as a couple on any census after that?

They seem to have lots of complicated family with different surnames don't they?

It'll be fun trying to sort that lot out, espeically if they link to Rogers  ;D

I should know,it was my maiden name  ;)

Well this is odd  :o

Ellen Rogers must have been his sister in law.
When she married Arthur Perkins at St Mary's Paddington Green she was actually widowed -her father's name was James North.

Arthur was listed as a Private in the Coldstream Guards.

So niece Emma is in fact the daughter of Henry James's brother(probably decd)

The Rogers surname is so common,I have lots of my ancestors whose deaths I have never found. You can only narrow it down by using all the censuses and see if dad is named as deceased on marriage certs,or if anyone remembers if they came to family occasions etc.

Up to 1911 middle names were entered in the indexes in full, after that until 1969 they only used a middle initial, making it even harder with a common surname.

And as Ann only has the one name,as do a lot of my Sarah Rogers's  ::) I think you will have trouble pinning her down for sure.

There is still a Rogers family at 42 Marne Street in 1911.
So it looks like you can slightly narrow down when you start searching for their deaths  ;D

Henry James was still alive on March 11th 1918 when daughter Eva married soldier Ernest Frank Warner at St Jude's Kensal Green.

The family were still of 42 Marne Street and he is described as a railway porter.

Nellie Edith Rogers is a witness (she was the Edith N from the 1891 census)

Ann remember the Ann death I posted is only a possibility ok, when you mention her siblings why should they cause more problems than those of Ann?
Can you give the members of the family with birth dates etc that you feel extra research would be of help to you.
