Hi does anyone know if this parish still exists or where it would have been, I think my Great Great Grandfather was from here. It is/was a COI Parish.
Any help is greatly appreciated

Derrylossary is a Civil and Church of Ireland Parish, it includes townlands such as Laragh, Sevenchurches, Roundwood etc Samuel Lewis topographical directory of 1837 lists some details : Parish of Derralossory (http://www.libraryireland.com/topog/D/Derralossory-Ballynacor-Wicklow.php)
The RCB Library has records for the parish but they dont go back very far :
Baptisms from 1878, marriages from 1842 and death/burials from 1878

Hi
The COI church in Derrylossary is in ruins now. Its located just outside Roundwood village on the Glendalough/Laragh road. Up a lane on Ur left hand side. President Childers is buried there.
Its now in the COI parish of Rathdrum/Laragh/Derrylossary when the 3 parishes were combined.

Hi,
While the records don't go back far, the RCB hold boxes of documents for parishes and there may be some information in those. Also, there is an active group working on the graveyard and also on gathering information together for their website. I have also been investigating ancestors from Tomdarragh, part of Derralossary. There is also Brian Cantwell's Memorial Inscriptions.

Hi.
I have an interest in Derrylossary as my GGGG grandparents Henry and Elizabeth Webster are buried there and I am lucky enough that there is a headstone that can still be read. It is only about two weeks back that I visited the RCB and had a look at all that they have on Derrylossary. I had previously examined the Registers of which the earlier years no longer exist but there were snippets to be got from the Preachers Books and the Vestry Books are in quite good condition and not too hard to read. To be found in the Vestry Books for the early 1800's are lists of parishoners and the townlands where they lived , probably info mixed with the tithes. There is a folder containing documents , some dating pre 1800 , but they are only a few with most of what is to be found here quite modern. If you are looking for families here that are not to be found in the Registers that exist, it is worth looking at all the other material , although it will take time.
