hello, and thankyou for that information, now I am still in the loop-de-loop
trying to find out any info about Hugh and Jane's children. I have a Jean, Jennie,
Jeannie Gordon somewheres on my side, I don't know if this is their daughter???
And whom did she marry, and where? Could you possibly help me with this inquiry?
Thanx
(i am new to all of this and to this site)

Details were found on a Canadian thread (http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,318357.msg3800033.html#msg3800033) which you've just posted on (spelling variations are not uncommon)-
Jennie Gordon, 25, born Belfast, father: Hugh Gordon, mother: Jane Meek- married 27 Nov.1915 in Toronto to Robert James Haslett
Added- think the date 1839 in your first post is a mistake?

Hi,
Unsure whether to put this here or on the Canadian Thread but Thomas Haslett married Jane Gordon on 5 June 1902 in Mariners Church of Ireland, Shankill, Belfast. Her father was Hugh Gordon.

I think you are a bit confused with dates. The details both on this thread and the Canadian ones make perfect sense and 1839 birthdate for Jane (Gordon) Haslett is impossible. Here's a timeline which might make things clearer for you-
1902 (Belfast) Thomas Haslett married Jane Gordon (father Hugh Gordon)
1913 (Montreal) Thomas Haslett died
1915 (Toronto) Jennie Gordon (parents Hugh Gordon and Jane Meek) married Robert James Haslett- at least 4 children born 1917 onwards so impossible for Jane to have been born in 1839
Perhaps the 1839 date is when Jane (Meek) Haslett was born?
The 1901 and 1911 Canadian census records are online (free) and you could look for Thomas and Jane there- spelling of surname might make them more difficult to find but you can search various ways until you find them. This should give you a clearer idea of Jane's age.

Hi
Instead of 1839 how about 1889 as this would be about six years after their marriage.

A PM from weedickitygurl yesterday said Jane Grodon was born 1839 but as I've already explained, this is not possible since she was having children in the 1920s :)
