Hello
Im looking for Ellen Potter born 1865 Brighton, Sussex. Married Alexander Marsden in 1889 & had children Frederick, Edward & Alexander Marsden. Last sighting of her is in 1891. Ellen left her husband and children after her daughter died, we have no idea where she went.
Then in abt 1894 Alexander her husband left the children at Warren Farm School (Workhouse) and also disapeared? The children never saw either parent again.
Can anyone help me trace or find the elusive Ellen & Alexander please.
Many Thanks

If that's Alexander that makes him born about 1865.
Looking at Freebmd there are two deaths that could fit.
Alexander Marsden aged 66 March quarter 1929 Blackburn 8e 623
Alexander Marsden aged 66 June quarter 1930 Oldham 8e 908

Hi
Thanks for the 2 replies...
Alexander 100% born 1868 according to BMD
Do you think this could still be him in Blackburn or Oldham?
Reason being the children they both left as orphans spent their married life in Manchester Alexander & Edward (Eccles/Salford) & Frederick i think in Lancashire.
Ellen is still untraceable though ? - But, just taken a quck glance at the 1901 and possibly found Ellen Potter not Marsden working at the Savoy Strand Hotel St Clement Danes???

Hard to tell, remember the age on the death certificate is what the person who registers the death tells the registrar, so may not always be correct. That would be a shame if he ended up near his children and they didn't know.

That might be your Ellen in 1901, but she says she was born 1869 in Hastings. According to Freebmd there is an Ellen Potter born June quarter 1869 Rye 2B 11, so it could be that one.
