Title: Adoption records
Post by: Jaynekb on Saturday 02 April 11 15:15 BST (UK)
My Grandfather was adopted through St Anthonys Cheshire Homes, Wolverhampton.  I have his birth certificate and know his birth mother's name. I also know who his adopted parents were.  Is there anyway I can find out who put him up for adoption?  Can I get hold of the adoption records? Jaynekb

Hi

You may get some information on the General Registration Office web site

If before 1927 (?)  then there was no formal adoption.

Wolverhampton archives may know what the status of the (Cheshire home) adoption records are.
