The driver appears in other pictures with my grandmother's brother who was William Robertson, born 1875 Dunfermline. He emigrated to NSW Australia after 1901.

We need to see the whole thing please, including the outer corners.
Cheers,
China

Well, I've looked out the original, and what you see is all I have. We now think it is a triumph, with a rubber belt drive.

You do have the original, then?
-
I got it in a box of old family photos from a cousin. As usual, about 1 in 50 have any writing on them, and this isn't one of them.
-
I've had a bit of a trawl in the gallery on this site - http://www.vintagebike.co.uk/ but there are 180+
pages, maybe you could send it to them to see if they can identify the bike?
-
Why can't you rescan it to show us the whole thing, including the outer corners? And if there is a design of any kind on the back, could we see it too? Everything is a dating tool.
-
There are no borders, and the back is perfectly blank. Thanks for your interest, I am now pursuing other leads.
-
I suggest this bike worth a look at .......

It's certainly very similar. However, the writing on the engine casing looks remarkably like Triumph.
-
Check out the "chain/belt" drive .......

Here's a link to Triumphs history section on their site if you want to browse around there to include, or eliminate, possibilities ..........
