Hello
I have access to Ancestry but they dont have SA electoral rolls
I would appreciate a look up of the electoral rolls for
ELMER Francis
ELMER Frances (Female)
ELMER Brian Sydney
ELMER Nellie
Known place was Two Wells SA years probably 1930's 1940's
Found one entry for Elmer at Two Wells in the 1940's on Trove

There are many news snippets about F ELMER, reinsman, who raced trotters. You could you post a link to the snippet where F ELMER was at Two Wells. I wonder if it was a race result you found and not his address.
I should have mentioned that I had searched the 1939 electoral roll for Two Wells and there are no ELMER listings.
It is difficult to search electoral rolls in South Australia in the period you are seeking.
This link explains the electoral rolls in SA and the problems searching them.

Checked the 1941 and 1943 Electoral Roll but no Elmer listed anywhere in SA.
Also the SA Directory 1924 - no Elmer but an Alf Thompson, assistant at Two Wells, which may connect with the letter you mentioned. No further info.
What was the false name used when enlisting in WW1. ?
If they were involved in horses, the horses could have been stabled in the Two Wells area yet the ELMER family could have lived elsewhere. There were (and still are) stables, trotting tracks and race courses in that area.

I wonder why Brian ELMER had his mother Nellie as NOK on his service file? I had noted Nellie on the electoral roll in NSW.

however she died in 1947.
When and where did Francis marry Nellie?
Francis L ELMER had an address of North East Road, Walkerville in 1941 - There use to be a trotting track on North East Road in the 1970's. There are still a few stables there today but the track is probably housing.

Curious as to why Francis L would need to enlist using an alias. What did he have to hide?
