Hi,
I have an old copy of a marriage certificate from 1811, but unfortunately one corner is missing . It is the marriage of Hugh Mccoy to Sarah Yaldon on 15th October 1811 at Holy Trinty Gosport. The missing corner contains the name of a ship, which I would like to know.
It states No 76, Hugh Mccoy of HMS ..................
singleman & Sarah Yaldon of thi........................
Can anyone fill in the missing words , before I order the film from the Latter-day Saints
Thanks in advance
Roy

Hi Roy
I am new to this sight and have been searching for more information on my GGG grandfather Hugh McCoy who married Sarah. I wondered if you had ever got any further with your hunt for the missing part of the marriage certificate? Is this a relative of yours too?
Would love to hear back from you.
Best wishes
Sarah

Welcome to RootsChat. :)
Unfortunately Roy has not logged in to RootsChat for a few years.
But, good news, I can tell you that Hugh's ship was HMS Porcupine.
