I found this ebook recently and thought it would be worth adding to your resource links post.

Hi Ken

Thanks for posting the link  :) See it is available for purchase. Likely the information contained there will, in the main, be available on the Historical Post Office Directories available on line for free www.nls.uk/family-history/directories/post-office/index.cfm?place=Glasgow

Hi Monica

Someone else pointed out that some of their ebooks are available elsewhere. I'm so used to paying for information now that it's become second nature! At least the prices at genespdf aren't too expensive, but you do have to shop around these days.

Thanks for the link to the post office directories, very interesting indeed.

Best~Ken

Hi Ann

Which link gave you a virus? I have downloaded two books from www.genespdf.com without a problem and I ceretainly wouldn't have posted a dangerous link here.  Please give more information as I'm quite concerned.

Thanks

Hi Ann

I have contacted genespdf.com and they tell me that all of their downloadable documents are scanned by Kaspersky and that they don’t have a registered customer by the name of Ann Baker.

Perhaps you registered under a different name or the NLS website gave you the virus! Either way can you let me have more information so I can pass it on to genespdf?

Thanks in advance.

In the interests of transparency since this is a link to a commercial site, can you clarify if you are connected with the site you recommend?  I can't help but notice that both your austinfamily.com website and this one are registered to the same French address.

Regards
Helen

I have been on both links since this posting and downloaded from both of them without any problems?? I think the virus may have came from elsewhere.

Hi Helen

Yes we use the same hosting company.

Thanks for your input Gerry, I think there must be another explanation for the virus.

OK, would that be your web hosting company?

Hi

Have checked the scan results and am sorry to say that's where it came from. I didn't have anything else other than roots open at the time I did it. Maybe I was just unlucky! It happens but is sorted now and no data lost. Just I'll need to find another way to access it.

Best Wishes

Ann :D
