Can anyone tell me how far back Frampton on Severn parish records exist please ( presumably these are in Gloucester PRO)?
My ancestor was John Canning christened on 15 August 1784 at Frampton-on-Severn, the son of John Canning & Anne Hewlett. (Anne Hewlett was christened in Frampton –on-Severn on 24 November 1754, daughter of Daniel & Elizabeth Hewlett). John Canning b.1784 married Mary Tucker of Clifton in Bristol on 16.10.1808.
Memorial inscriptions in Frampton on Severn church include one to John Canning died 1798 (age 41 this makes birth 1757), wife Ann in 1811 Age 56 + Esther Verny 27/11/1797 Age 1 & Mary 10/10/1843 Age 56. I'm assuming Mary may have been John's sister - but interested in where Verny connection comes from & also any information about Canning family pre 1800.

Familysearch Pilot has these Children to JOHN/ANN Canning;

ELIZABETH, 23 May 1790
SARAH, 23 Nov 1792
ESTHER VERNY, 22 June 1797, Buried 01 Dec 1797
So looks like Mary was an unmarried Sister.

JMJ,
Have just seen your post of last March re. Anne Hewlett, daughter of Daniel and Elizabeth Verney. I am a 3 x great granddaughter of Anne's brother Richard. I am trying to find out about the Verneys - so far without success. I have more information further back on the Hewletts if you have not already found it.
