Hi
To lookup a marriage in the parish records - you need to supply details of which church it took place in
These are the areas covered by Truro RD - including St Clement
http://www.ukbmd.org.uk/genuki/reg/districts/truro.html
James D Webb was b 1851 Truro as per freebmd
freebmd has a death in June qtr 1900 for Mary Jane Webb aged 42
James didn't let the grass grow did he - he re-married in September qtr 1900

James Dawson WEBB went through a few Wives and must have liked the name Mary Jane!.
1st Marriage was too Mary Jane COWL, 11 June 1873, St Paul, Truro, Cornwall.
James Father was JAMES, Occp Photographer

And I found the a newspaper report of a James Dawson Webb who died in 1927 in Gunnislake.
As everybody else has found he seems to be a difficult one to track down. His date of birth seems to change more often than his wives.
-
James Dawson Webb was born 1851 (December quarter) - as has been suggested earlier, he was the illegitimate son of a Maria Webb and not baptised until 11th January 1854 Truro i.e. the father he names as James Webb when he married was fabricated. His fatber may have been named James but more likely to have been a 'Dawson' since this was given as his second name.

Now that IS interesting, so as far back as 1841 there was a Penhaligon connection.

Though Family Search says Penaligan.
My gggg grandmother was Ann and she had a daughter called Mary, both of which would roughly fit the dates. How interesting.
-
Yes I thought there may be a connection given the name :)
-
Campfield Lane and Rosewin Row intersect.
If only we could step back in time. I'd love to know more about the Webb family.
-
This has got to be his father surely???
