Ugly photo of an ugly back lane...but probably unchanged for half a century. Could someone please make the car go away? Also the perforation at the top?
My dad used to live in this town. He escaped :D
Sorry, but I don't have the original so I can't give you a better scan :P
Many thanks,
China

... How odd; - it looks like there's a pole through the middle of the car ... ??? Can see the bottom of it, and the top of it ('tis quite tall) ... but it seems to disappear where the car is!
-
Like this China - maybe a bit better but like this?? ;)
does look a bit down at heel that lane doesn't it! ::)

Superb, Wiggy...how'd you do that? Been practicing your spells? Thanks, it's fantastic, very good :D
Hadn't noticed that, Deb, you're right! I zoomed in and brightened up the contrast and I can't see where it goes. Almost like the car was added.
Wiggy! What have you been up to?? ;D ;D

Another one for you .... but brighter :)
Changing to greyscale helps to sharpens the image.

but any chance that the washing can be obliviated ....

There seems to be two post..one each side of the driveway. The big pole is laid back a bit.

Aren't you glad he did ;D ;D ;D

Yes, I am glad...and he was the only one of my parental and grandparental generations who did. All the uncles, aunts and cousins stayed :P
Thank you very much for your cleanups, especially obliviating the washing although I thought it was rather charming. And typical of the back lanes, although it was just the 1970s model car that didn't fit :)
Tony, how do you change to greyscale? Can it be done in Microsoft Picture Manager?
Thanks again,
China

I do not use this program but looking online at the manual, it seems straightforward.
See attached instruction for changing a colour image to black/white.
The free program "Photoscape" is a very versatile program and well worth having a look at :)
~ one click change from colour to greyscale.
~ one click change from greyscale to sepia.
~ many more adjustments easily done.

Okay, that's what I've been doing in Microsoft...it's a slider under Color, Saturation. Works well for yellowed photos etc when you want them to all look the same for a scrapbook page.
Thanks Tony.
