Hi all,
Wondering if anyone could help if possible? I have been researching Cutler's from Nottingham for a while now but have come to a very frustrating block! I have got as far as John CUTLER (Sometimes spelt as CUTTLER) b. 1798 in East Stoke, Nottinghamshire...He married an Elizabeth FROST in 1816 in Mansfield, Notts. I have years of death etc but seem to be stuck! Any help would be very appreciated thanks! :)

Purchase of the marriage cert would give John's father's name and occupation

Hi Guys! Thanks so much for taking the time to look into it for me, very much apprciated!
I am assuming from all this info that Benjamin Cutler and Ann Pacy are the parents of John Cutler as the marriage date is about a year before John was born. The name Benjamin runs a lot on the Cutler side so I'm going to go with my gut instinct lol :)
Thanks Larkspur for the Census info as I had missed a couple of small details on my tree when I looked into that too!
Sunflower - where abouts would I get to view the Microfiche details do you know please? :)
Thanks all once again! x

Hello again
A couple more snippet's
Ann Pacy bapt 30.1. 1776 to Thomas & Hannah at East Stoke
Thomas Pacy aged 21 & Hannah Ownsworth aged 20 with consent of parent James Ownsworth married 27 Dec 1773 at East Stoke.

I am assuming the micro fiche extra was the details from Phillimore, on the parentage of the bride and groom.
-
It looks like the vicar of East Stoke made notes, because looking at the burial entries, as early as 1779, it gives cause of death and occupation. It also has 'details on fiche' next to them so perhaps more information on the original.

Hi Stacey, I think I may have e mailed you directly in the past,
just another thought on your search for John Cutler,
In my tree I have John Cutler b1797 Alfreton Derbyshire, parents John Cutler and Elizabeth/Esther Wagstaff. I have not been able to find John in any other records in Derbyshire or identify and confirm his death.
My theory is that he may have married Elizabeth Frost, some of the Cutler families had existing links to the area around Mansfield so its possible.
I also continue to search for any further information about my John and Elizabeth/Esther Wagstaff, I have johns birth 1777 Alfreton and their marriage, 1797 Alfreton but have not been able to locate their place or date of death.
just thought I would add to the discussion, hope it helps,
regards
Paul :)

Hi Paul,
Is this the Birth you thinking is your John?
19 August 1797, Alfreton, Derbyshire, England, Father JOHN
The Marriage 1797 is Submitted on the IGI.
The actual marriage is on FreeREG;
www.freereg.org.uk
There is also this one:
03 October 1785, Saint Werburgh, Derby, Derby, England to JOHN/ESTHER
There is a Census with a John born c 1785 with Wife Elizabeth c 1781 living in Heanor, Derbys in 1841.
His Occp is Stocking Maker.
HO107/1188/16/Heanor
This Elizabeth may be alive in 1851 living with her Daug Martha SHAW born c 1812, Codnor, Derbys.
Looks to me that there are a lot of John Cutlers about!
What Child of John Cutler c 1797 are you descended from?
When and where was he born?
Trish :)
EDIT there is also a Marriage 1847 in Alfreton on there;
Charlotte HUNT, Widower, Father John CUTLER, Stockinger
So looks to me that the Census I found is this Charlottes Father.

Hi Trish thanks for the quick reply,
I descend from Thomas Cutler b1801, he married Mary Walters in Pentrich 1822,
on Thomas's second marriage cert he lists his father as John Cutler.
I have sent you a PM.
Paul
