I don't have any pictures of grandma as a young woman that are any clearer than this. Can it be helped please?
I originally just asked for a clean. Now that I look at it I'd love a coloured version and hope it's not to much to ask.
Also, can someone give me an idea of when it might have been take? She was born in 1910 and I've been told she was quite a fashionista - though fashions on the Canadian prairies may have been a bit behind those in style at the same time in the UK & Europe. I'm guessing the photo was taken about 1928, but I'm not expert on the fashions of the day. Thoughts?
TX to all as usual. Jan

Oh lovely...quite the flapper :)
Chiffon dress with a filmy indistinct hemline, dropped waist, finger waves in her hair...1928 is bang on for a date. Nude back, very daring!!! Ooh la-la ;D
Cheers,

Well China, based on the stories that does fit. She apparently lived a life that caused some raised eyebrows :o, but I don't think she was bored.

Many TX Recycled Hippie! You've brought out her beauty.

Wow, what a stunner! Just the outfit for a little stroll in the woods, eh? :)
PS don't they have mosquitoes and other biting insects out there?
Is that FUR at the bottom of the frock?
-
Oh IgorStrav - nothing would have stopped my grandma from wearing her best, even in rural Saskatchewan - regardless of the mosquitoes!! The only time I remember her covering up was to prevent colouring her lovely skin - and of course when it was chilly and then she usually chose fur. Her youngest sister is still alive (86) and still laughs about her sister's proclivity for fancy shoes - and apparently she had many pairs.

RecycledHippy, I hate to impose, but would it be too much to ask you to recolour the back of the dress please? China thinks it was "nude".

Another version for you

Oh my. Thank you very much sussexbb. I think she would have been delighted to see what you've done with her.

Thanks very much Niksmum. I love it. You did a fantastic b&w job on her grandmother (c.1889) last week too. Much appreciated.

Me too China. I try to console my husband that I come by my love of shoes genetically. My other grandma has (yep, present tense - she just celebrated her 100th birthday) loves her jewelery so I use that excuse too. Poor hubby. He just grins & humours me.

Hi Jan........Another colour variation.
