Just wondering what the G E R part stood for on an ancestors 1901 occupation please.

Probably Great Eastern Railway (which had its own police force).

Thats great thanks avm228  ;D He was born in Suffolk and was living in Norfolk at the time so highly likely thats what it means

In 1922 that Force had 400 officers!
