Title: Ryans Church Lane New Ross
Post by: the-earle-family on Thursday 17 March 11 22:21 GMT (UK)
Hi I am trying to find out about the Ryans who lived in Church Lane in New Ross. All I have to go on is the 1901 and 19911 Census records , Elizabeth aged 12 in the census was my Grandmother. Thanks for any help

I think I'd start with a birth cert for Elizabeth if you dont already have that. If her age is accurate then this looks like the best match :

 Name: Elizabeth Ryan
 Rregistration district: New Ross
 Event type: Birth
 Quarter and year: Oct-Dec 1898
 Volume : 4 / Page : 589

census links for reference :

  Ryan household, New Ross - 1901 (http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Wexford/New_Ross_Urban/Church_Lane/1798678/)
  Ryan household, New Ross - 1911 (http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Wexford/New_Ross__Urban/Church_Lane/689955/)

You didnt mention any dates, or Mary's husbands name... but I'd start the search with the marriage for Mary... assuming she was married after the start of civil registration. A marriage cert would give you her father's name and occupation and also her residence at the time of marriage.
