I have been trying for a while now to trace a cousin, who died in the US circa 1999 give or take a few years either way, but can find no trace. His name is Gordon Wilberforce born in Liverpool 1925. I know he worked for Cunard from 1944 to 1951. I know these facts as I have a copy of his Seamans ID card, and his discharge Purse. Which I obtained from the National Archives, I don't know what part of the US he settled down in, though I suspect it is most likely to have been on the eastern seaboard. He married over there. Any help most gratefully recieved.

If you a search on Google News Archives (http://news.google.com/archivesearch) for Gordon Wilberforce in quotation marks, a 1993 article comes up from a Hamilton, Ontario newspaper that mentions a 67 year old Gordon Wilberforce dying. It's pay-per-view, so I can't see the whole thing. I'm not positive he's your guy, but thought it might be a possibility.
