Title: WHAT TO DO NEXT?? HELP
Post by: mandymoo27 on Tuesday 15 March 11 10:05 GMT (UK)
Hi

William Earnshaw b 18 May 1875 - d 30 Jun 1958 LOWER AGBRIGG??

Where is Lower AGBRIGG?
Who would I contact if I wanted them to do an obituary search & what newspaper would it most likely be in?
In 1958 would he have been cremated rather than buried?
If there was a will would this be available to view online?

Apologies for the "BLONDE" moment I am having but I am ready to smash my computer up !! ???

Hope someone can help me

Thanks in advance

Amanda

This may help with the area of possible death area.

Wakefield news papers (Wakefield Library) may be a good place to start

I'm going to guess:  Agbrigg Road, Wakefield

Google Maps points you right to it.

Hi

This is a difficult one.
Lower Agbrigg was formed in the 1939 and it had parts of Wakefield and Dewsbury in it.
The main areas I think were Horbury, Ossett, etc. The registers were then divided and sent to Leeds and Wakefield.
The burial or cremation would depend on were the lived, if you have an address it could point you in the right direction. The obit if there was one would have been posted in the local paper so you really need to know what part of the area they were from and that might involve getting the death certificate from the General Register Office in Southport but I always fell I have been ripped off when I get one from them.
A long shot could be going on the Wakefield website and seeing if you can find them in the on-line burial registers.

Regards
John

If you have the death date have you the death certificate? If so then it should show the actual place of death
