Title: Pubs in Old Bradwell, MiltonKeynes
Post by: martha42 on Monday 14 March 11 19:10 GMT (UK)
Hi

Does anybody know how the names of any pubs/how many pubs there might have been in Old Bradwell, Milton Keynes in the early 1970's?

Looking for an ancestor who may have been a pub landlord at that time.  His name was Gerald Driver and we believe he ran a pub with his wife Winn, sometime in the early 70's.

Thanks

Martha

Hi Martha

I only ever passed through Old Brad'ell on my way to my Grandparents at New Brad'ell, and that was pre MK days. However, two I can think of were The Queen Victoria and almost opposite the Albert, I still have a friend in the area and will try to see if she knows of anymore.

Hi Martha

Have spoken to my friend who confirms that the only two pub are The Victoria and The Albert. As far as she knows (she moved to the area in 1981) there weren't any others. She knows someone who she says has lived in the village 'forever' and will ask them if they knew anyone called Driver.

I will get back to you when i have any news.

Regards
