Title: Turner / Bowskill Owston Lincs.
Post by: greentrad on Friday 11 March 11 00:07 GMT (UK)
Does anybody have further information on a Benjamin Turner (b.1806, Lincolnshire) or his family? He married Elizabeth Bowskill (b.1808, Owston) at Owston in 1828. They had 5 children that I could find: Lucy (1833), John Matthew (1836), John (1844-1906), Jane (1847) and Elizabeth (1854).
John is my wife's gg grandfather. I don't know the fate of any of the others and couldn't find Benjamin's parents. Can anyone do some local lookups? Thank you lots...

Try as I might, I can't seem to find this 1851 census return that you refer to using the Ancestry website. The only close one I have seen has Elizabeth down as being born at Epworth in 1803 and a husband called John who was born in Snaith in 1796.

How & where did you access this census return? I really would love to be able to find it! Help!!

Thanks.

Hello Geoff :)
I referred specifically to Ancestry because that's the site that Greentrad said they were using.

Try freereg.org.uk there is the baptism of Benjamin at Epworth & baptism of several of the children also the marriage of Turner & Bowskill. Lincolnshire is well covered on this site

Thank you very much for this all of you.
I've found the 1851 census (already had the 1841) and I've checked out the freereg.org.uk website - very useful.
Thanks again,
