Hi there,
Do you have access to Ancestry's NZ elec rolls, I have just had a quick squiz and the names you mention are listed in the rolls,
ie: 1928 has ...Thompson & Daisy living at 320 Avenue, Wanganui, Thompson is listed as a wool storeman. There is also a William James at 3 Church place, Wanganui, occupation Labourer.

Thanks for those messages
I think we are on the right track.... ;D
I had a look at the newspapers and found the Death for Sarah Mckie.. i think it is the right person.
Considering i am going off some notes that my Great Grandmother wrote down, 16 years ago at the age of 90 odd ... Looks like she had a good memory. These Mckies arrived in NZ in 1913 and my Grt Grandmother knew them..
How can i find out if any of them married ..? or had children.
thanks for the help

Wilson McKIE also served WW1.
On enlistment, he gave his next-of-kin as "Miss H. J. McKIE (sister), 87 Liverpool Street, Wanganui".
Archives NZ hold a service record for Wilson.
These records are now able to be digistised for viewing online. If you'd like Wilson's record, then please see the notes - in the Resources section of this board - about making a digitisation request.

Have just found this site, while searching through the records of Aramoho cemetery, and signed up.
I am one of Victoria McKie's grandsons and, for a large part of my childhood years, was brought up by her, an excellent lady, after my parents divorced. She (and I, for 10 or so years) lived at 10 Quick Avenue, Aramoho, Whanganui.
She had two children by my grandfather Thomson, who died before I was born - my mother Betty and my uncle Tom. Tom was a civil engineer who lived most of his life in Canada, where he died a few years ago.
My mother Betty married my father Lou Whinray in 1947 and they lived in Hamilton.
When I was finishing secondary school I can remember her ringing up a friend of hers, whom she and my grandfather knew, and organizing a job for me at one of the local woolstores, where my grandfather had been the manager.
I graduated with a mechanical engineering degree from Auckland University in 1970 and I have spent my working life making baroque and renaissance recorders and transverse flutes.
