Can anyone identify this uniform or possible dates?

Cant identify the cap badge - I'm thinking Highland regiment because the badge appears to have a tartan square behind it (but cant see a hackle).
He looks to have a wound stripe on his left forearm, and there is a stick (may just be a photo prop of course), but WW1 region.

Now that i didnt know.
So a wound stripe indicates post 16.

That cap badge is frustrating, its very distinctive despite the lack of clarity, bit isnt shown on any of the sites I use for reference.

This looks remarkably like the Canadian 15th Inf bn 48th Highlanders of Canada Dileas Gu Brath
The bottom separate scroll should read "15th Canadian Batt"
