   Hi,

If you look at Family Search.org (the old site) there are many Hoords shown from Shropshire going back to the C15th, but I did not see the name Cotton. Many from Bridgnorth.

I can tell you that John Hoord (1378-1398) held the manor of Hordley, near Cotton. The estate passed to his daughter Margaret Jane Hoord who married Griffinus Kynaston, the creating the Kynaston's of Hordley dynasty.

John Hoord's ancestry can be traced back to Henry de Hoord (c.1200).

It is likely that if you have found the name Hoord in the North Shropshire area, they will be related.

Let me know if I can assist further.
