This is a long shot. James and Isabel BAILEY were perfumers and hairdressers in Taunton, Somerset. Their son, William, was born there in 1784 but I have found no record of his birth / baptism and no record of James and Isabel's marriage. Their grandson was James Alexander Bailey, but I have no idea where the 'Alexander' comes from.
There is just a hint of a possible Irish connection. My question is, does anyone have any records of BAILEYs (or variants Bayley, Bailie, Baillie) who were perfumers / hairdressers in the 18th century? How about ALEXANDERs?
