Hi,
Sorry to be a pest but as any of you that read my earlier request will know, I'm trying to find out what my grandfather did during WWI.
SOFO were able to confirm the info. I had about his time with OBLI and gave me the date he transferred regiments.
After being home for a year my grandfather was transferred to 1st Garrison Batt. Royal Warwickshire Regiment on 10th August 1915. According to the piece on the National Roll, he took part in the engagement at El Fasher and was present at the entry into Jerusalem. Is there any way I can confirm this?
I've tried finding information about the batt. online but all I can find is when it was formed and that it went to Egypt.
Regards
Sandie

Hello Sandie,
If you can get to Kew their war diary is in WO95/4444, WO95/4456 and WO95/4732.

Thank you very much for your replies.
I am planning a visit to TNA but that won't be for a couple of months, I'll have a look for the diaries then.
I did look at the museum site before posting here but it seems to point researchers to TNA or hiring a researcher. I will ring them though to see if they will be able to help.
Thanks again
regards
