Title: Looking for WEST in Twyford
Post by: west1947 on Monday 21 February 11 22:20 GMT (UK)
Hi There,

I am looking for William and Emma West, Willam was a watchmaker and they had a shop in Church Street in Twyford Berkshire, Which for some reason was called E.West & Son, If anyone knows of any decendants, I would be grateful. I believe they lived in Hight Street in Twyford, I've traced them in the census as far as 1881 and then they seem to disappear I believe the shop was still open in the early 1900's. I think they may have had a son called Sidney.

Hi

He must have been away from home and there is a much greater chance that his details are recorded incorrectly.
Do you have his death?  Freebmd - Sep. 1/4 1882 aged 45 in Wokingham area, which covers Twyford.
Some creative searching might find him.  Could he have been in hospital?  Or visiting family in Gloucestershire?

Good luck
Regards
Lee

I wonder has he just been missed off - Emma is not shown as Head in 1881 - she is shown as wife

Hi,
The Berks Burial Index is a CD issued by the Berks Family History Society which can be purchased
from them. If you go to this address you will find many items they publish.

Well worth the cost.
