Hoping that a "lister" may be able to assist. Have the marriage of Evan Davies to a Margaret Williams 1852 in the parish church of Trellech ar Bettws. From this I know Evan was born about 1828 and his father was a John Davies occupation weaver. What I wish to know if possible is the birth of Evan about 1828 also the marriage of his parents John Davies occupation weaver, wife's name unknown about 1826 ? and if possible the birth of John Davies about 1803 . All this I hope will be maybe in the parish records of the parish church of Trelech ar Bettws.Thankyou Alun.

Hello :)
Have you found Evan on any census, and if so does he give Trelech ar Bettws as his place of birth? Perhaps Trelech was Margaret's home Parish and Evan was from a neighbouring Parish....
Kind Regards
Morgan

Hi Alun - thanks for your reply - couldn't quite work out how to reply to you again, so hopefully you'll see this! Thanks for the information on Evan - I haven't found out too much yet apart from Mary Williams being his wife, and their children Ann, David, John, Howell, Henry and Daniel. I've only found this out from the census entries of the time and John's birth certificate, but all the information you have seems to fit. Very interesting! As you say, I'll double check a few more things to see if they tally and see how far we can go back, but it all sounds spot-on. If you are descended from Howell and I'm descended from John, I suppose that makes us distant cousins of some sort! Very interesting what you say about Clement Davies, and I'll definitely look into that as I'd like to also find out what happened to the other brothers and sister Ann. I'll start chasing the archive people at Carmarthen Council to see what they come up and hopefully it'll all tally. By the way, I have a family photograph of Evan if you need it for your researches. If so, let me know and I could email it to you. Thanks again for your information!

Clement Davies's father was Moses and his father was named David if this is the correct David then this is the confirmation which we require. Regards Alun
