Title: Courtney street girls school, Hull
Post by: sunk island on Saturday 19 February 11 18:18 GMT (UK)
Hi,

I'm tracing the steps of a family member Frances Grace Parrott. She was a head mistress here (courtney street girls school) in 1922. I am unsure of when she left.

Any information would be great.

Thank you.
Steph.

Hi
Have you tried the local paper?  The retirement of a headmistress usually makes the news.  Her death may show up on www.freebmd.org.uk too.  Are the school records at the local archives office?

Hi Steph
I'm also related to "Auntie Grace" - I'm at work at moment, but will speak to mother, later, think I might have a photo, I've definately got a pen that was given to my grandad by her.
Cheers
Paul.

Hi Paul.

There is no one still alive in my family who remembers her, so anything that you can find out would be great. Thank you. :D
Do you live in the Patrington area?

I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you so much again.

Steph ;D

Hi Steph,
Sorry for my late reply.
Auntie Grace was my grandad's aunt - I've a photo of her at my Grandad's brother's wedding (Uncle Dick). I'll seek it out.
How are you related? I'd be interested to hear about what you know of her.
I'm afraid my family left Patrington last generation, although I was there in February, and might well pop across later this month. We now live in Wales.
Can you PM your email address?
Cheers
Paul
