Can anyone with local knowledge of the Ballymena area help me please? I have just been browsing The Braid website and was surprised to find a couple of names of interest referring to Crebilly cemetery. There are no dates given so presume it is an old headstone. I now need to find out the religious denomination of this cemetery, the location, and if there are any further interment records held by the cemetery authorities.
The names match those of a couple I have living c 1879 in the Ahoghill area so would not expect them to be buried as far away as what appears to be Ballymena town.
Thank you

The Braid website: http://www.thebraid.com/genealogy.aspx
Here's a bit which mentions the history of Crebilly Cemetery-
http://www.ballymenaparish.org/parish-history-1798-2000/parish/1798-1960
A recent cross-community event there mentioned in Ballymena Times article (http://www.ballymenatimes.com/news/local/not_forgotten_moving_ceremony_at_crebilly_1_1910484)
Crebilly is to the east of Ballymena town while Ahoghill is to the west so it does seem a distrance unless there was an earlier connection to Crebilly? Wouldn't assume headstone is old one just because no dates are listed.

Thank you aghadowey for your help, yet again. Thank you for the links, the history article was very informative. If I have understood correctly ,Crebilly is an RC graveyard without the original church?
i don't know of any connection with Crebilly that's why I was so surprised to find familiar names listed. I shall have to keep searching now to try and find one.
