Title: Ballyeaston 1st Presbyterian McClean
Post by: chiplassie on Thursday 17 February 11 03:06 GMT (UK)
Would someone be able to check for a baptism for a Mary McClean about 1833 at Ballyeaston?  I am hoping to determine whether or not her parents were James McClean and Mary McQuillan.
Thank you
CL

Hi jwaugh, i realise this is a very old post but can you remember if the above dates for the McCleans was birth dates or baptism dates?, James McClean was my 4th Great Grandfather, kind regards, John McLean.

Can't say for sure in this case but with Presbyterian baptisms if there is only one date (as is often the case) it would be the date of baptism (if two dates then birth & baptism).

Note: my reply based on looking at actual registers rather than transcribed records,

Hi John

The dates are Dates of Birth.

The Original records do have the Baptismal date but when the records were put onto computer by members of the Church they didn't put the baptismal date in.

The above is taken from the computerised records.(easier to search lol)

Regards

John

Thanks for clarifying that the details from the register are showing date of birth and not baptism.
