Title: Wilson - Glasgow
Post by: nicolaD on Sunday 13 February 11 17:59 GMT (UK)
My 3xgt grandfather Terance (sic) Wilson and family appear to have emigrated from Ireland to Glasgow between 1855 and 1861. In 1871 they were living at no. 10 Swan Street Glasgow and in 1881 at no. 40 Oak Street Glasgow. Terance's occupation was glass bottle labourer. Terance died in 1886 and his sons John Longworth Wilson and Peter Wilson ( both glass bottle workers )  and families moved to Newton-le-Willows.

I would love to hear from anyone with Wilson ancestors in Glasgow.

Can anyone recommend informative book/s on the Glasgow glass industry in the 19th century?

Nicola
