Title: Ochiltree family

I would like information on:

Alexander Allen Ochiltree
B: 1700
Renfrew Scotland
Wife:
Maryon Euing

They had three sons who came to America:

Alexander born 22 April 1733  Renfrew
Died:  28 May 1778 by Indians in Lewis County VA,

Michael  born Renfrew,,,came to America
Matthew born Renfrew..came to America

These brothers were sent to America as indentured servants after the Battle of Cullodon..They were accompanied by sisters, Mary and Elizabeth.

The parents did not leave Scotland.  I have no other pertinent information, this is what I downloaded from the LDS Library.

To prove my lineage I have to account for the two generations before Alexander Allen and Mary Euing.  I would surely appreciate help...

I have read everything I can search on Google...I wonder if there would be church records ?  The LDS only has the year listed..I think they were Protestant but I am at a brick wall.  I would like to go back 1600 if possible...

Church records for this period are predominantly from the Old Parish Registers (established Church of Scotland, i.e. presbyterian). It is these OPRs that in the main show on IGI/LDS as indexed entries in the period before official registration in Scotland from 1855. I did have a quick look earlier on the pay to view site www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk with the names we have and nothing was showing unfortunately. and Maryon Euing born 1725 Renfrew....

I searched the LDS site and could not turn up anything.

Could someone advise me where to write or search for the information I need.:??

LuRose, I had a wee look through the list of rebels of the '45, never found anything,

Renfrewshire was generally unsympathetic to the Jacobites, it's on the Clyde which had strong connections to America. If they were indentured it could be for another reason. It's unlikely transported rebels would have their sisters with them. The Euing name is now Ewing.

I was told the Jacobite followers were sent to Fort William and two other Forts and then sent abroad.  Does anyone know if this penal information would online ?
