Emily Carter came from Wardington Oxfordshire according to her marriage cert. and her parents were John Carter and Emily Capel. She was born about 1859 and married and died in New Zealand. I cannot find anything about her on Free BDM or Familysearch. Could anyone help please?

Both "Emily"s were "Emma"s when in England :-)
Oxfordshire is not on Family Search - when researching in a new area it's a good idea to see what work the Family History Society has done with regard to transcription.
In this case, Oxfordshire FHS www.ofhs.org.uk has transcribed the Wardington parish registers (they're available on CD.)
Here, courtesy of OFHS, is the baptism:
1864, 9 Jan
CARTER Emmaline, d John & Emma, lab.
and, also in Wardington, is the marriage:
1863, 1 Sep
John CARTER, fa, bach otp, lab, s John, lab,
Emma CAPEL, minor, sp Coton, d [blank], dec'd.

Thank you Bev. I am sure that is her and she was younger than she said on her marriage certificate.

Hi
Just a thought for you re the CAPEL connection, there were variants of this families names in Middleton Cheney, Northamptonshire and nearby Banbury, Oxfordshire.
Coton is /was Northamptonshire.
It may help perhaps?
