Title: Looking for REDFERN photographer NZ
Post by: PEM07 on Saturday 12 February 11 01:18 GMT (UK)
I have newspaper advertisements of G REDFERN (George) and R REDFERN (Richard) photographers working in Auckland 1870-1888.
I am keen to trace their movements and I'm particularly interested in any REDFERN photos taken at other locations. eg Hamilton, Russell etc.
Do Electoral Rolls give any locations for Richard?
I know George moved about NZ a fair bit; Richard went to Australia in 1889 and set up business in Hawthorne VIC.
Any help appreciated

Hi   :)

Have you looked at the Auckland Library website - Photographers database ?

Some good info there for both REDFERNs.

I have several photographs taken by Richard Redfern of the Pink and White Terraces which were destroyed in the Tarawera eruption. These were given to me by my grandmother and I could scan these if necessary (would need someone to tell me how to send then online) if you are interested.
