Are you still interested in Rufus Sugden as I believe I have original documentation related to him?

Hi, I am actually descended from Josiah Sugden the brother of Rufus. Josiah married Amy Hester Smith. Their child Lavinia married John Thomas Wilson. Their child Alice Wilson was the 2nd wife of my grandad William Henry Johnston so Alice was my dad's mother.

Rufus was my Great Grandfather on my father’s side. I have not really started looking at my family tree but I have found some documents such as the newspaper clipping announcing Rufus’s death and funeral arrangements. He is buried with his wife in Holbeck cemetery. I was in Leeds the other week and had a quick look for the grave, got in and around the area where it should be but it started to pour down so abandoned the search, I recall seeing some headstones with the name Lavinia on them and it stuck with me as I thought it was an unusual name. Must have been popular name around Leeds. Interesting the clipping mentions the name of the Roofing company where Rufus worked for 50years. There’s also some documents too, one allowing my grandfather to leave school at 13 and go to work is signed by Rufus. There are a number of old photos of the Sugden side and I think there maybe one of Rufus. There used to be some tin photos too. I’ll let you know what I find if you like.
