Looking for someone willing to go to St. Laurence Church/Cemetery and check with the office for any Ellis burials dating from 1700 to 1890. If there is another older cemetery in the area, please advise. Thanks, Marilyn

Marilyn - GENUKI indicates this was the only C of E church in the area - there are/were others but it doesn't indicate which had a graveyard, if any, but none are older. St Lawrence's registers are at the Chester records office and would have to be searched there.

The "new" version of the Familysearch site seems to include some Frodsham burial registers - I just went into advnaced search, put in Ellis, death and Frodsham and there are many, many results.

About 6 years ago, the Frodsham Local History Society had all the graves in the (old) churchyard recorded. This very comprehensive record can be found at Frodsham library.
The Anglican church yard was closed to burials some time ago..the churchyard within the grounds of St.Laurence that is.
My cousin has found this record extremely useful in researching our/her family.
Had we still been living in Frodsham,I would have done this for you :)Marilyn.
Maybe some kind person could take a visit to the library for you?
