Has anyone info on this area of Washington. My maternal g grandparents lived here. Daughtery was the family name. They had 10 children.

Thought it was a wind up at first, till I found Edmund there in 1881.
Preceding it on the census are Barnets Farm and Ashington Common, and following it are Clayton House and Clayton Farm. I note lime burners amongst the other residents, so could it have initially been a piece of wasteland between those places where people originally camped out?
It was certainly in existance for some time, because the National Archives start with references to pasture called Pigland, Washington - 241, 242 and 243 on the Tithe Map and 191, 192 and 193 on the O.S. 25" Map, adding in later documents, that it was on Heath Common, and include details of numerous tenement properties built there changing hands. There is even a man amongst the WW1 dead with a Pigland address. Roy G
