Title: Windows 7
Post by: EEK on Tuesday 08 February 11 19:45 GMT (UK)
I have recently upgraded from Vista to Windows 7, and have been told that I can now have several pages on the screen at the same time for comparison. I would like to compare my tree on GR, which I am able to size down, with a public tree on Ancestry, which I cannot. Has anybody any ideas why not?

Hi

Assume you mean you're using IE8? Although that does not really matter.

For min worry, max flexibility (purely my view) - download Firefox and run 2x half-screen views side by side (or top/bottom), 1 in IE, 1 in FF.

And/Or Chrome, and/or ..........................

"Best of both worlds"

Hi Eileen

Have just had a go at what you said.
Bring your image up on Ancestry...
First of all minimize by clicking on the centre of your three symbols at the top right of your screen.....this will make the image a little smaller.

Then left click on the spanner symbol in the top right hand corner of your Chrome screen, and you will see the option to zoom in the drop down menu with a '-' and a '+' either side of the 100%.....just click on the '-'  so you reduce down to about say 70% or so you can still read itl

Then with a slightly smaller screen hover with your mouse on the
left hand edge and you should see a horizontal double ended arrow.....left click on this and drag it to your right and this should give you your tree on the right half of the screen

Hope this works for you....  if not let me know and I will try something else!!.....just a case of getting used to it.
