I have done a lot of research on my ancestory but I am lacking photos of my grandparents in their younger days, and I am wondering if anybody out there might just have some? A long shot but you just never know....! I have some photos in their latter days only.
Grandma was Alice Frear (nee Nelson), born in Barmby Moor near Pocklington in 1893 and died in Pocklington in 1985.
Grandad was Benjamin Frear, born in Hayton in 1888 annd died in Barmby Moor in 1973.
They were married in December 1911 at St. Catherine's Barmby Moor.
Would anybody also have any photos of their parents?
Alice = Robert Nelson (b. Sheriff Hutton 1860) and Martha Bell (b. Brompton by Northallerton 1863)
Benjamin = James Frear (b. Nunburnholme 1855) and Sarah Jane Gibson (b. Pocklington 1850).
They were married in 1874.

Sorry can't help with photos, but I wondered whether you had seen this site - it gives loads of intresting information and old photographs of Pocklington and Barmby Moor.

Hi Yorkslass, yes I am registered on that site and have posted many times. I have seen all those photos, the 1931 school photo has my mum's sisters and brother on it and the 1952 photo my cousins. My mum added a few names on to the picture! The site has also turned up a few photos of other people my mum knew as well.
I check the site every week to see what extras are added.
My mum comes from Barmby Moor and I lived there from 1953 to 1960.

Hi my mother was born in Hull,1905 in North St,related to the Penna's :)any info on the early Penna's would be helpful,Looking for relatives of Luigi Penna,he was a Mariner,got married in Hull in 1902.

Another way to find Family photos and documents can be found on Ancestry...type in a surname and location and on the left you can see the word "Pictures" which will bring up relevant photos and documents for that surname by clicking on this.

Percivaly, you may need to reply to this topic once more for your Rootschat personal message system to be fully activated ............ it often takes three posts on the public boards before it is automatically activated.
Once that is done just click on anybody's name to the left of one of their posts and this will take you to their profile where you will have the option to send them a personal message.
