I can't find any clue to the death of Henry Singleton Ward of Kirkham Lancs.
He was born in 1851, Treales, lived in Kirkham, owned a chemist shop in Poulton St and married 3 times.
His last marriage in 1915 was to Mary Ellen Fairclough. There is a death that is probably Mary's in Kirkham, 1935.
I can find no record of Henry's death - looked LBMD, OPC, Family Search and a few other obscure searches. Any hints?

Wow....I just found a record of Henry S Ward died Plantagenet WA 1928. I know he visited WA after his son's marriage in Albany, 1925 but never heard that he died here or that his wife was here.
I am amazed - that was the year my father was born - his grandson.
Thanks so much - where do I find that probate record?
-
Sorry..... I should have done some research before I posted that last question - I will have to go into the Reading Room in the Alexander Library, Perth for a copy of the probate record and I have ordered the death cert from Plantagenet, WA.
I will do some shipping record searches in the Reading Room also for Henry and Mary Ellen.
Thanks so much for sharing your wealth of GenKnowledge.

Hi
Glad it's sorted out a problem. I got the probate record from the England and Wales National Probate Register.
Probate was granted 1 May 1929
Effects total £171 13s 8d in England.
The probate record says "sealed London 1st May" which I have no idea of. Could be something about money in England while they are in Australia? ???

Henry was a chemist/druggist/dentist with his shop and residence on the main street of Kirkham. His family owned land at Treales - 2 brothers and 1 sister, all single, who lived on the farm predeceased Henry. Henry's son, my grandfather, grew up with his uncles on the farm from age 3 after his mother's death. He ran away at age 23 and came to Australlia - never had a happy childhood.
My grandfather bought a house and cooldrink factory in a country town in Western Australia after his father's visit - we assume that he was given money from his father.
I wonder now if Henry was ill and came to Aust to see his children and distribute their inheritance - there was another son in NSW and a daughter in WA
Is there any way to find out what happened to the farm at (5?)Moorside, Treales and the shop/residence at 73 Poulton Street, Kirkham (it is still there and was a pharmacy until recent years)?

Hi - the son who left UK and married in Albany wouldn't be Frank Fowler Ward would he?
-
Not Frank Fowler, but his brother Henry Hutchinson Ward. They had a sister Lilly. Are you related to Frank Fowler? I would very much like to find some relatives.
My aunts met Frank who lived in NSW many years ago.

Possibly in a roundabout way - I sent you a pm
