Title: Deegans from Rock lane, Baggot Street
Post by: Tonhil on Thursday 03 February 11 17:10 GMT (UK)
I am looking for any knowledge of Deegan's from Rock lane off Baggot Street, earliest I can go back to is marriage of Michael Deegan and Honor Murphy 14/9/1845, my GGgrandfather

Michael seems to be the dominant christian name, and to a lessor degree Thomas and John.

There seems to be lots of Deegan's in the area who were all cousins etc.

A Deegan family lived in East James Place (off East James St ) which is only a 100 metres or so from Rock Lane, they would have been still living there in the 1960's

Hi, I went in to Pearse Street Library and looked at their database re Westland Row birth, baptisms etc. There are lots of Deegans going back to early 1700's and living in general area of the church. Needs further work but I think there are connections.
