Joseph Brightmore b c1825 and Amelia Twigg b c1825
Joseph & Amelia married in 1841 and the 1851 shows him as b 1816 in Bakewell Derbyshire and Amelia 1821 Sheffield
In 1871 - Alice was aged 10 and in service - can't be right surely??
Births September qtr 1862
BRIGHTMORE Alice Jemima Ecclesall B 9c 249

1841 census has Joseph age 20 and Amelia age 15 -as ages were rounded down to nearest 5 years this is a near "fit" with ages given in 1851
Do you have their census details?
Joseph gives p.o.b. as Bakewell in 1851 and 1871

and Josephs parents were Francis Brightmore and Ellen ?
From the IGI - mother was Jemima - not Ellen
JOSEPH BRIGHTMORE Christening: 09 APR 1817 Bakewell, Derby

Sad but true, although legislation had been passed in 1847 to limit the hours she would have worked to 10 per day!!
Have a look at -

Compared to some, she was one of the lucky ones!
