has anyone else noticed that www.maori.org and the whakapapa club are no longer?
it was such a valuble resource and had helped so many people reconnect along with so much information, and all in the one place.
i sure do miss the place and hope this is only temporary. :-[

It comes and goes...

It was off air for ages then last few months it was back!!!
hopefully just upgrading

usually the site let's us know when they are upgrading, i left it for a few days before putting this thread up, the site is still not on and i think we may not see it again? :(

It's been a few weeks now, waitangi day was never an issue for the website in previous years, no word of upgrading or that they were going offline, there is no one to contact but i know the site makers were travelling overseas most of the time and some members were made mod's of the site, am hoping it will return as i said it was a valuble resource all on one website and will be missed by many.

It hasn't been up for months.  librarian responsible for maintaining the Te Puna Web Directory at the National Library. On our last couple of sweeps of the directory the links have been dead, so we're going to delist it from the TPWD - although we do maintain an archived version of the site at

The site is still MIA, the site you can visit on the above link is an archive of it - from days gone by, sadly.

I hope that is will rise up again....  Whakapapa is hard enough without losing a great resource like Mari.org
