Hello
I have two photos of an unknown person and was wondering if anyone could identify the uniform he is wearing - this may help in finding out who he is in my family.
Many thanks

Is that his regimental number at the bottom of the first photo? That's how it reads to me.
Here's a possible, 642124 isn't his RA number however. :-\

I would not have thought that was his army number. I thought it was registered charity number.

Fair point. ;D
Does say Regd, doesn't it? Wishful thinking on my part!

Hi
Thanks for your help.
I have no idea who this person is. I found it among the photos my nan gave me and unfortunately i cannot ask her.
The photo showing the regd number 642124 was taken at the Greengate studios, Barking road East Ham which is where my ancestors are from.
On the back of the other photo is very faintly written the number 29385? I have no idea if this could mean anything or not?
The family names from that area are; Stirling, Tree, Bland, Winstone and Gillman.
Many thanks again,
Chris

642124 is the registered design for the mount, to which different photographs were then added. Registered Design numbers 627492 to 644783 were issued in 1914.

Note the four flags of the Allied Powers at that date. UK, France, Belgium and I forget the other one.
