Hiya,
I know there's not many around but there must be some? We know my gran and grandad were in the Stockport area. One of our cousins plays for Stockport County.
Thanks L:esanne. :-*

Hi Lesanne
Cant help with Stockport but if you are collecting The surname there will more than you think. For instance in Wirral (there are only two)One family in Great Sutton and one in Ellesmere Port.
If you go to to a reference library and look a various area's in the phone book's you are bound to find more. Happy Hunting

Hi Lesanne
Not quite sure what your looking for but if its "living" Weaving's you need to use http://www.192.com/ which will give you all those in the 2004 voting lists.
If you are wanting to find them going back through the census years we need a name and all other details in order to make a start.

Hugo Weaving was born in 1960 in Nigeria and grew up in Australia.
So I don't think he's Lesanne's grandad ::) or even a rellie(as they say in Oz!)
I'm sure when you finally work out what exactly it is you want, one of us will try and help you with it. ;D
All the best

My wife cannot recall the nickname Mush ever being used in her family and as since her Dad passed away before our interest in family tree she (in Canada) and a sister in USA are the last two left and they never had any connections with the family in England since an aunt passed away in 1974.
Thank you for the welcome and the reply

Hello Bob,
At last some more info.
Jack Weaving (b1918/20) Stockport. married Margaret Camblin (b abt1920) Ireland.
Perhaps some more will surface in the next year or more... ;D Lesanne.
-
Hello Lesanne.
The surname Weaving is my main line of research but mainly in Gloucestershire so not much help really, there were a few Weavings in Berkshire circa 19th century who migrated to Yorkshire.
Derek.

Hello David,
Funnily enough...... ;D
I have found that the Berkshire bunch are related to one line, but, because I can't get beyond Jack Weaving (b Stockport 1918/20) it seems as if there are 2 lines.
I have found in (1881. cen) Thomas J (b Fyfield) aged 23 living in B'ham.
with Im old, "Thomas H".
Also, in the house a Rosa Barrett ( Cousin) aged 14 (b Fyfield)
This must be the family starting to move north?
Did "Thomas H" get to Stockport?
Hmmm... Lesanne. :D
-
Hello Lesanne.
Was David for me,hmmmm,I have a marriage certificate for a Joseph Weaving who was wed in 1886 at Castleford,Yorks,if you want the details, just shout.
Derek. 8)
Derek. ::)
Derek. ;D

Well, other background for Berkshire bunch...
c1775 Fyfield = James + Ann Guy.
parents of 1804 - 1810. James / Thomas + Ann Calcot/Calcutt / Henry / Albert
Does this mean anything to you? :-\
-
Don,t know much about the Berkshire lot, only that they were well to do Farmers and Brewers. ???
Derek.

Hi Lesanne
Due to the wifes health we haven't been doing much research -other then what I can find on line.
Can't find any connection to the Jack & Margaret with the information we have.
Thank you for remembering us and sending any new info you find.
Bob

Have only just come across this old string of messages. I might be able to help you with some information - I'm one of the Berkshire Weavings!
KN
-
:D Thank you KN for your reply.
It seems that this 'line' is a bit more difficult to trace than the others. Probably because it goes through Oxfordshire and Berkshire :-\
BTW, some of my Berks certs are signed by a Weaving.... :)
Lesanne.

Weaving is my husband's family name, his father and brother traced the family back to Gloucestershire circa 1819, in Rodborough. My husband's nickname is Mush but has nothing to do with ancestry, he got that given to him in High School ;D
