Title: Nina BOOTY
Post by: down-under on Saturday 22 January 11 07:22 GMT (UK)
Hello

Can anyone find a Nina Booty she married a William Davies   son Allen or Alan Cedric  H Davies. All deceased  They lived in Western Australia.

This is for a friend of mine these are her father and grandparents of which she does not have information .  I cannot see Nina in UK.  My friend thought they married in UK but they could have married Australia.  My friend had a couple of paintings signed Nina Booty one was of the old Mandurah jetty 50 years ago. The paintings were lost in a fire.

Regards Pam

There are a couple of trees with Nina on them
They state that her parents were Philip Booty & Mary Grattan

Name:    Philip Gallousy Booty
Spouse:    Mary Grattan
Marriage:    1872 - Victoria

There is this article on Trove which names a couple of Nina's brothers.
http://trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/37840120?searchTerm=%22mary%20booty%22&searchLimits=

there is also a death announcment for another brother in NSW his names is Kenelm John

Births for Philip Galloway and Mary Booty

Bertha J Booty    1884       Newtown, New South Wales
Stewart B Booty    1890       Newtown, New South Wales
Jack G Booty    1893        Newtown, New South Wales
Philip Cuthbert Booty    1873    Sandhurst, Victoria
Charles Delevante Booty    1875       Sandhurst, Sandridge, Victoria
Ruby Mary Booty    1881    Waverley, New South Wales

If you google Frederick Francis Booty there is a write up on him

Cheers Sue

Nina's brother Frederick:
http://adbonline.anu.edu.au/biogs/AS10051b.htm

The last line of the above ADB article says that marriage details are unknown, but here is Frederick's marriage notice:
http://www.rootschat.com/links/0bgm/

It appears that a number of the children to Phillip Galloway BOOTY and Mary GRATTON were not registered, including Nina.  Phillip died in Perth, WA in 1931 (Registration number 836), so it would be well worth getting a copy of his death cert where hopefully you will find all of his children listed.

Nina's death registration:

RootsChat must deal with any breach of copyright by its members.

For some time the team of Copyright Editors has been removing breaches of copyright and sending detailed personal messages to the member that had posted the information.  Due to the volume of posts and members this is now impractical.  Messages in breach will simply be deleted and this notice posted.  We apologise for any inconvenience caused but are sure you will appreciate the importance of this issue.

From these details, it is likely that Nina was born in NSW around 1886 - somewhere in between sister Bertha (1884) and brother Stewart (1890).

Hi Pam,

Just to let you know we have a new member lyret trying to contact you re Nina.

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=143637

Unfortunately she got a little lost and used the report to modify button instead of reply. I hope I have gotten a PM through (a little difficult as she has not posted at all)

lyret was trying to tell you that

Quote
Willie Daniel Davis was my grandfather, his wife, Nina (nee) Booty was my grandmother
and my father was one of their 9 children, 2 children are still living.

lyret would love to see the paintings done by her grandmother as she has unfortunately never seen any.

I hope she is able to reply to the thread so that you are able to make contact.

lyret, please reply to this thread 3 times so that Pam is able to contact you privately allowing you to share email addresses. We do not allow them to be posted on the public boards.

Just hit the reply button to the bottom right of the last reply on this thread and a reply box will appear for you to type in.

All the Best

Kris  :)

Thank you Kris

I cannot message Lyret yet.

Lyret

In my first post I said the paintings were lost in a fire which devastated my friend. She is the grandaughter of Nina and Willie.  William lived with her father (his son) and mother and her till he died.

I can put you in contact with my friend.

I am Great Great Granddaughter of Philip Galloway Booty + Mary Grattan, parents of Nina Booty/Davis.  I spoke to a Grandson of Nina's tonight but he knew nothing of his Grandmother being a painter so this is exciting to all of us descendants of the Booty clan.
I also have contact with a granddaughter of Kenelm Booty (Nina's brother) and a granddaughter of Bertha Booty (Nina's sister) and photos of some of Nina's other siblings.
Pam I would love to get in touch with your friend as she is a relative of mine whom I currently don't know and could shed some light on the Davis line of the family for my tree and we could all draw on combined knowledge and resources to find out more about these paintings.

Kind regards
dimor
