Title: Lavinia Jones b. 1840s Halifax Nova Scotia
Post by: ASheriff on Wednesday 19 January 11 17:19 GMT (UK)
Hi all.
I have been researching my family history for a year or so now but have never had to venture beyond the UK and could use a hand getting started.

I'm trying to find details of my GGG grandmother: Lavinia Jones. Here's what I know:

Any help in finding the births of Lavinia Jones, William G or George Jones, and their mother Mary Jones would be absolutely amazing. As a bonus, I'd like to find the marriage between Mary and Peter Jones which looks like it may also have been in Nova Scotia. As the cherry on top, if I could find their journey to England I would be completely made-up!

P.S I don't know if it is important, but on a later census (1901) in Lavinia's place of birth there is a note saying "British Subject". Does this mean her nationality at birth was British or could she have been naturalised?

Thanks in advance,
Andy.

I remember an enquiry regarding this family.  Link to information found earlier.
